Piano: The methodology of advanced elements of piano tuition as well as relevant repertoire up to grade 6 level of all recognised examination boards. History of the instrument, playing mechanism compared to previous keyboard instruments, fingering, and use of pedals.
Jazz: Technical skills and methods relevant to jazz improvisation, common forms and chord sequences, elements of style and repertoire. (Compulsory with jazz MEI 200)
Prerequisite is MME 100 (jazz) and MEI 100 (jazz).
Classical voice: International Phonetic Alphabet (IPA) for Italian and German; Italian and German diction for singers; common operatic themes found in opera plots; characteristics of the German Lied and its application to classical singing and singers; repertoire studies |
